About the Artist…

Marcos Marin was born in Brazil September 12, 1067, is the son of a movie producer and a singer.

From the age of five Marcos was in the classical piano lessons at the Music Conservatory of Sao Paulo. At a very young age, Marin began a carrier as a «virtuosi» pianist and has stuied music in Anger, France. In the same time, Marin developed a passion for paintings.
At the Cité des Arts in Paris in 1990, Marin met the great master Vasarely. Intrigued by the work of Vasarely, Marin embarked on the adventure of optical art. Subsequently, marin won several awards for his artwork; The FIAT Columbus celebrating the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America (Fiat Museum of Turin) and the Philips Collection with the piece «Monaclisa».
During this decade, Marin played an important role in cultural development between Brazil and France for the AIAP UNESCO.
In 2000, marin moved to the United States, miami Beach, where he set up his studio; In 2003, Marin initiated his first monumental sculpture, wich was exposed to the Coconut Grove Convention Center to mark the inauguration of the great art fair «Arteamericas». In the Museum of Boca Raton Marin expose into «Best of Florida» show.
At the Art Basel Miami Beach event in 2004, Marin was invited by Delphine Pastor, who was impressed by his talent, to exhibit in Monaco. Subsequently, Marin’s inauguration in Monaco featured a magnificent portrait of Princess Grace, which is now exhibited in the new Museum of Monaco. A few days after the death of Prince Rainier III, Prince Albert comissioned Marin to construct the offcicial monument dedicated to his father; This monumental work was unveilled in January 18th, 2006 at the entrance of the Fontvieille Circus and became the first landmark of the artist in Monaco.
In 2006, Marin met the designer and patron, Pierre Cardin, who ofered him the opportunity to make large format works
in the studio of Lacoste, south of France. At the same time, Marin worked in Portugal with Stanley Ho as part of the 50th anniversary of the Casino of Estoril. Mr. Stanley Ho offered to Marin Two Medals of Honnor: one thanking the artist for the exhibition at the Gallery of the Casino Estoril and one for the portrait of Mr. Ho, wich is now exhibit in Macau.
In 2009, Marin was invited to Japan as part of the «one century Brazil-Japan friendship»,  and received the great medal of honnor recognizing his «lifetime achievement».
In september of 2011, the monument «Jean Cocteau» optical sculpture was unveilled to the public inside the Villefranche-sur-mer Citadel. This was Marin’s first work that was displayed in French territory.
2012 – A new monument «Princess Grace» was unveilled during the Art Fair «Art Monaco» and after instaled for the public into the olive’s trees gardens of Cap Martin following the desire of the SAS Prince Albert II of Monaco.
The City of Roqeubrune Cap Martin comissioned marin to creat the monument «Coco Chanel» for the «Hall of fame»
public collection of the comunity.
2013 – At Ponta Delgada, Azores island in Portugal, Marin unveilled the public monument «Joao de Deus» honoring this pionnier of the education in Portugal.
The Monumental Solo Exhibition at Borgo San Felice Toscany italy was a collaboration with the Foundation Prince Albert II of Monaco.
The artist lives and works in Monaco.
